Methodology and Services
Based on experience, HJ Solutions has devised a no-nonsense BI project methodology. As BI solutions can be long-term undertakings, a plateau approach is always encouraged, so as to ensure that every three- to four-month period, tangible deliverables reach the end-user community. Besides end-to-end BI solutions, HJ Solutions offers a range of specialised services, namely:
- BI Roadmap/Strategy - This activity involves guiding the organisation in the development of a BI strategy and implementation
plan. Depending on the amount of time available, a strategy can either be high-level or involve the definition of specific
key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Data Warehouse Doctor- if your company has an existing data warehouse or BI solution that is not optimised or no longer
meets requirements, it is possible to engage a Harvey Jones consultant to assess your solution in a very short space of time and advise you and your organisation on the best way forward. This advice can be business related and/or technical and incorporates best practice approaches to realise the best possible leverage on available resources.
- Mentoring - One of the main goals of Harvey Jones Solutions is to have its clients operating as self-sufficiently as possible.
To this end, Harvey Jones Solutions consultants are available to mentor, guide and coach your own employees during a BI
project. Practically, mentoring takes the form of a combination of theoretical sessions and hands-on experience under the watchful
eye of an experienced consultant. This has the huge advantage that your employee is trained in your own BI environment. Mentoring
is normally combined with standard Harvey Jones Solutions training courses.
- Project Support - HJ Solutions is available to provide all its clients with first or second line support, as required. Once a solution
has been implemented, the client has the option to enter to an SLA with HJ Solutions. Alternatively, if no such agreement is in place, clients are able to call on support from consultants on an ad-hoc basis.
